About

Life experiences can shift our lives in such a profound way, they can cause a ripple effect which can often impact the whole of our life. This impact can be emotionally, mentally, physically, relationally, and even spiritually. These experiences can include trauma, grief and loss, inter-relational conflict and/or significant life transitions.

We all need support, care, empathy, and compassion in hard times to help us navigate the chaotic ebbs and flows of human life. 

In my practice, I strive to build a therapeutic relationship using an attachment focused lens, where you feel safe to explore the impacts of past and present experiences of your life. We work together to find creative and effective resolutions to the challenges that life can throw at us. This allows us to discover your inner strength and capacity for living a authentic and fulfilled life.

Therapy can be a beautiful opportunity to touch your life in a hopeful, healing way which allows you to explore the effects of this experience through all areas of your life.

Services

  • Individual talk therapy through in person or virtual services allows individuals to process daily stresses, past trauma, and a safe and confidential space to relieve emotional distress and/or mental health concerns.

  • Sometimes pregnancy can be hard on our mind and body – before, during and after! I am here to support you through your journey of pregnancy, parenting, and support through PPD (post-partum depression) or PPA (post-partum anxiety). Support and psychoeducation around infant mental health is also available!

  • Sometimes it can be difficult to navigate relationships or even understand our patterns and behaviors in relationships. Working together, we can focus on understanding self and attachment styles, communication barriers, behavioral and relational patterns through an attachment focused lens.

  • Self-esteem is our sense of worth; a self-evaluation of who we are and most times it is neither fair nor objective. Often times negative relationships with ourselves can damage our relationships, careers, and overall satisfaction with life. Through self-compassion, acceptance and challenge we can work together to overcome life’s hardships and build your confidence.

  • Experiencing anxiety can be overwhelming! By focusing on physical symptoms such as rapid breathing, racing heart rate or pulse, and muscle tenseness we can alleviate these symptoms. Using mindfulness and grounding techniques, we also apply DBT skills that are specifically designed to help manage symptoms and decrease overall anxiety.

  • Depression often negatively affects how you feel, think, act, and view the world. Therapy has been proven to be just as effective as medication in treating mild and moderate depression. Therapy can help an individual experiencing depression to identifying issues, negative beliefs or self or the world, and behaviors that may be contributing to their distress. Together we will work to develop healthy coping skills and lifestyle habits, as well as improve relationships. 

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an approach to treating emotional and psychological distress caused by a painful or traumatic life event or experience including PTSD. EMDR helps to reduce the level of distress and intensity associated with that experience using desensitizing and reprocessing.

  • This type of therapy is designed to provide skills for managing intense emotions and negotiating social relationships. Together we acknowledge the need for change in a context of accepting situations and recognize the constant change of feelings—many of them inconsistent—without having to get caught up in those feelings.
